Introduction to this R&R page: As I wrote in my essay, "Beating a Dead Russian Horse," "Look folks, I would like nothing better than to drop my monologue on Russia but the idiots that run my country (the United States) can think of nothing else for us to talk about."  Realizing that the beast of bigotry will not be dying anytime soon, my staff and I have decided to devote a special section of our web site to "Russiagate and Russophobia."  This will make it easier for you to follow this topic and to share with your friends.  If this topic interests you, we encourage you to bookmark this page and to check back frequently.  -Vince Milum, February 2018

Kremlin at Night

Comment about the above photograph: To help combat the propaganda emanating from "The West" (particularly American media) against all-things-Russian, we thought you might appreciate what a broader / truer image of "The Kremlin" looks like.  As you will notice, it is far from the menacing depictions most of you are used to seeing.

Our viewpoint and request: We encourage you to form your opinions about Russia, its government, and its citizens, but we ask that you not be taken in by ill-intentioned hate-mongers before so doing.

Today, (in homage to the TV show, Jeopardy) we launch a new ILJ feature called "Potent Quotables."

Our first entry are some interesting excerpts from The Fatal Delusions of Western Man, a thought-provoking essay by Patrick J. Buchanan that merits reading as well as frank and open discussion (regardless of ideological persuasion).  Much of the quoted material deals with Western miscues before and during the Cold War that are being amplified by even-more-foolhardy relations with modern-day Russia and China.

The Neocon Threat to America and World Peace In 3 Parts...

"What's the Motive Behind the (Dedicated) Russia Coverage?" — Part 1
By Vince Milum

Q: "So, Vince, why have you taken on the task of rebutting anti-Russian propaganda in the United States (and throughout much of the "Western" World)?"

A: "Number 1, because a bunch of lunatics (in media and government) are leading the United States into a possibly world-ending nuclear war with Russia.  Number 2, because of the fact that as a Cold War Intelligence Veteran of the United States I accomplished my primary mission: The Soviet Union is no more and Russia is now a proto-capitalist, (Orthodox) Christian* nation.  I am not about to let some neocons** destroy the hard work of others and myself."

*This is not to prefer Christianity over any other faith but to prefer the freedom to practice (any) faith over state-mandated atheism.

**"Neocons" are "new conservatives" who mostly come from communist families that had to reinvent themselves when we defeated communism.  Hasn't anyone noticed that the media and leftist politicians who were once positively-disposed towards (atheist and communist) Soviet-Russia only turned on Russia when it came to embrace Christianity and capitalism?

How "The Manchurian Candidate" foresaw the rise of American "Neocons" — Part 2
By Vince Milum

The Novel: "It is revealed that the Communists have been using Shaw as a sleeper agent, a guiltless assassin subconsciously activated by a trigger, in Shaw's case seeing the 'Queen of Diamonds' playing card while playing solitaire.  Provoked by the appearance of the card, he obeys orders which he then forgets.  Shaw's KGB handler is his domineering mother, Eleanor, a ruthless power broker working with the Communists to execute a "palace coup d'état" to quietly overthrow the U.S. government and install her husband, McCarthy-esque Senator Johnny Iselin, as puppet dictator."

The Current Reality: Disempowered Communists have resurrected themselves as "neoconservatives" in the United States.  Having reinvented themselves, these former communists have assumed power within a broad swathe of American media and government dominance.  Instead of the Queen of Diamonds, their Pavlovian image of choice is that of St. Basil's Christian Cathedral (see below).  With this blasphemous abuse of an icon, neoconservatives are indoctrinating millions of Americans to not only hate this Christian symbol but to risk death to fight it.

Question: Are you going to be a Raymond Shaw or are you going to be a Bennett Marco?

Again, see:

Postscript: Per CNN, "Polygraph panic: CIA director fretted his vote for communist"

Excerpt: "(CNN) At his first polygraph test to enter the CIA, the future director had a secret.  John Brennan on Thursday recalled being asked a standard question for a top security clearance at his early CIA lie detector test: Have you ever worked with or for a group that was dedicated to overthrowing the US?  'I froze,' Brennan said during a panel discussion about diversity in the intelligence community....  'This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate'...."

Listening to Other Voices
By Vince Milum

One of my great disappointments as an American intellectual is the wall of resistance one encounters when trying to introduce alternative voices into a conversation.

Sadly, today, most Americans and most EU stalwarts especially the so-called "elites" among these two populations are remarkably incapable of entertaining any thoughts which do not reinforce their own.  This not only stifles intellectual development but can produce tragic consequences as well including disastrous, long-term wars that (beforehand) were predicted to be "cakewalks."

As a former American intelligence professional, I feel an ongoing patriotic duty to present competitive narratives, despite the objections of both the ruling class and the masses.  I do so in order to preserve what liberties we have remaining.  With that in mind, I want to illustrate a prime example of how American (and EU) media and government poison the minds of their audiences / constituents.  Following this, I will link to a debate program from RT, the (English-language) Russian television network that both the EU and the United States are trying to prevent their citizens from watching.

Let's start with mind poisoning...

Below is an image shown routinely by western media to represent the "evil" Russian government.  When naming that "evil government," the media calls it "The Kremlin" (with the hard 'k' sound driving home their point).

In actuality, the image you see above is St. Basil's Cathedral, (architecturally) the most famous Orthodox Christian structure in the world.  The media is not only attempting to condition you into hating all things Russian (including the Russian government) but, subliminally, (orthodox) Christianity as well.

Question: How many of you reading this essay were aware that this spired-complex was NOT the Kremlin but a Christian cathedral?

Now, as to "The Kremlin," let me link to a Wikipedia article which will elucidate what "it" really is:

For a single building to represent "The Kremlin," "The Grand Kremlin Palace" would be a much better choice but this generic-looking center of a European government (see below) would not suit the needs of those looking to brainwash you.  If you truly want to be free of mind-control, this is when you should invoke the mantra, "Resist!"

One person who understood true evil -- that being the one presented by the purveyors of hate in western media was Malcolm X (who, although a Muslim, would perceive well how American media has taught its devourers the majority of whom are Christian to hate symbols of their own religion):

Malcom X

Having reached the end of today's primer on listening to other voices, I now share with you four voices your American government (and other western governments) do not want you to hear:

Postscript: Thanks to those of you who asked me to supplement this essay with this graphic which demonstrates the degree to which western media attempts to poison the minds of its audience.  Here "Russian Evil" is shown overtaking the American "White House" but, as demonstrated in the above essay, the "evil" depicted is NOT the Russian government, rather, it is an Orthodox Christian Cathedral.

To help me reinforce my message of the necessity to combat (our own, western) propaganda, I leave you once again with the words of Malcolm X:

"If you aren't careful, the [media] will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing."

Beating a Dead Russian Horse
By Vince Milum

Look folks, I would like nothing better than to drop my monologue on Russia but the idiots that run my country (the United States) can think of nothing else for us to talk about.  Want proof?  Look at this screen shot of the home page for The New York Times:

NYT - Russia

And remember, these dirtbags actually dare proclaim that their paper's motto is: "All the News That's Fit to Print."  So, according to these buffoons, one can conclude that virtually nothing can be published unless it is about Russia.  Hold a second, I think I hear Sarah Palin calling...

Palin - Russians

"But Vince...," you say.  "Only Putin and the Russians would be so evil as to interfere in another country's governance.  Surely you cannot argue that point?"  To which I call as my first witness, James Woolsey, former CIA Director:

For my second witness, I call Scott Shane of The New York Times (you remember, that news organization that (only) publishes "All the News That's Fit to Print"):

Russia Isn't the Only One Meddling in Elections. We Do It, Too. (NY Times title, not mine)

Opening: "Bags of cash delivered to a Rome hotel for favored Italian candidates.  Scandalous stories leaked to foreign newspapers to swing an election in Nicaragua.  Millions of pamphlets, posters and stickers printed to defeat an incumbent in Serbia.  The long arm of Vladimir Putin?  No, just a small sample of the United States' history of intervention in foreign elections."

More: "If you ask an intelligence officer, did the Russians break the rules or do something bizarre, the answer is no, not at all," said Steven L. Hall, who retired in 2015 after 30 years at the C.I.A., where he was the chief of Russian operations.  The United States "absolutely" has carried out such election influence operations historically, he said, "and I hope we keep doing it."

Let me leave you with one more passage:

"Loch K. Johnson, the dean of American intelligence scholars, who began his career in the 1970s investigating the C.I.A. as a staff member of the Senate's Church Committee, says Russia's 2016 operation was simply the cyber-age version of standard United States practice for decades, whenever American officials were worried about a foreign vote."

Now I call my third witness, the publishers of Time Magazine.  (Actually, this is a recall witness from a previous article.)

(Milum asks:) "So Time Publishers, would you please share with this court, one of your magazine covers regarding election interference?"

Time - Yeltsin

"Yes Vince," you concede.  "But you must admit the Russians have a bad history and have always been an enemy of the United States.  Besides, what about their annexation of Crimea and supporting Russian-speakers in Ukraine?"

To which I respond by calling my final witnesses: The United States Army (in toto) as well as Henry L. Stimson (US Secretary of War for World War II), Frank Knox (US Secretary of the Navy), General George C. Marshall (Chief of Staff, US Army), General Douglas MacArthur (Commander-in-Chief, Southwest Pacific Area), Admiral Ernest J. King (Commander-in-Chief, United States Fleet), and famed Hollywood Director, Frank Capra, who all argue that: (a) Russia is our ally, (b) shares our values and (c) is the rightful overseer of both Crimean and Ukrainian affairs (not my argument(s), theirs!):

Laurence Tribe Lunatic Hero of the Left
By Vince Milum

Laurence Tribe

Here is a very good article about a nut-job that the left has been promoting (for decades) as their preferred choice to be the next nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court.  Fortunately, the more-rational elements of the progressive left are waking up to the fact that this idiot (like most of the MSNBC all-stars*) is overdue for a timeout and remedial education.

Harvard's Laurence Tribe Has Become a Deranged Russia Conspiracist: Today Was His Most Humiliating Debacle

To understand how an imbecile like Tribe can be a patrician of the Harvard Law faculty, I encourage you to read my essay on "Michael Jordan Disease," dated January 28, 2018.

*Speaking of MSNBC all-stars, here is the leader of the Democrats' Inquisition** Representative Adam Schiff being "punked" by two Russian DJ's as Schiff plays Inspector Clouseau in the DNC version of "In Search of the Lost Russian":

**And lest anyone forget, here are the Inquisition role models of the Democratic Party:

Vince Milum writes:

The Russians Are Coming

NOTE: Please see my revised postscript at the conclusion of this article.

As I mentioned in my essay dated, January 19, 2018: "I will NOT give myself as an audience to anti-Russian -or- anti-Iranian -or- anti-Syrian -or- anti-Korean xenophobia routinely spouted from America's and EU airwaves.  What I am particularly dumbfounded about is how 'the left' has become a haven for Russophobia."  Let me expound on this latter point...

Since the presidency of Bill Clinton, the U.S. Democratic Party has had a strong and growing anti-Slavic bias – including the unprovoked (from the American perspective) and (arguably) indiscriminate bombing and killing of thousands of Serbs by the Clinton Administration and the fomenting of hatred towards ethnic Russians which has been accentuated since the electoral defeat of Hillary Clinton.

Another grotesque example of open racial bigotry comes from President Obama's Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, who stated (on the NBC News program "Meet the Press") that Russians are "GENETICALLY driven to co-opt, penetrate, [and] gain favor."

And MSNBC, the cable channel of record for the progressive left, has become a 24x7 hate-fest of anti-Russian hysteria.  Paramount in this visual and oral onslaught of demonization is Rachel Maddow (herself, a modern incarnation of Joseph Goebbels) who nightly intones the evil presented by all-things-Russian.

Rachel Maddow and Russia

As many of you know, I have dedicated my life to fighting racism – especially as it manifests in wars of ethnocide and genocide.  But now that the prelude to a potentially world-ending nuclear-war with Russia is reaching its climax,* I believe I must speak out even more forcefully than I have in the past.  (*The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists this week advanced their "Doomsday Clock" to two minutes until midnight – the closest to Midnight (i.e., "Armageddon," if you will) in history.)  So, while I will continue to reject anti-Russian and anti-Serb bigotry (as I am doing in citing the above examples), I now demand that each time anyone wishes to incite anti-Slav hostilities, they do so while also acknowledging the original source of their anti-Slav animus (which can be found in the Wikipedia article (excerpted below) on the ARYAN RACE):

"Nazi racial theorist Hans F. K. Günther identified the European race as having five subtype races: Nordic, Mediterranean, Dinaric, Alpine, and East Baltic.  Günther applied a Nordicist conception that Nordics were the highest in the racial hierarchy amongst these five European subtype races.  In his book 'Rassenkunde des deutschen Volkes' (1922) ('Racial Science of the German People'), Günther recognized Germans as being composed of all five European subtypes, but emphasized the strong Nordic heritage amongst Germans.  Günther believed Slavic people to be of 'Eastern race', one that was separate from Germans and Nordics, and warned about mixing 'German blood' with Slavic one....  Hitler's conception of the 'Aryan Herrenvolk' ('Aryan folk or nation') explicitly excluded the vast majority of Slavs, regarding the Slavs as having dangerous Jewish and Asiatic influences.  Because of this, the Nazis declared Slavs to be Untermenschen (subhumans)."

"Hitler described Slavs as 'a mass of born slaves who feel the need of a master'.  Hitler declared that because Slavs were subhumans that the Geneva Conventions were not applicable to them, and German soldiers in World War II were thus permitted to ignore the Geneva Conventions in regards to Slavs.  Hitler called Slavs 'a rabbit family' meaning they were intrinsically idle and disorganized.  Nazi Germany's propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels had media speak of Slavs as primitive animals who were from the Siberian tundra who were like a 'dark wave of filth'.  The Nazi notion of Slavs being inferior non-Aryans was part of the agenda for creating 'Lebensraum' ('living space') for Germans and other Germanic people in eastern Europe that was initiated during World War II under 'Generalplan Ost': millions of Germans and other Germanic settlers would be moved into conquered territories of Eastern Europe, while the original Slavic inhabitants were to be annihilated, removed, or enslaved."

Postscript: An original postscript to this essay included this statement:

"Going forward I ask that all anti-Russians declare each of the following: (a) their anti-Slav orientation, (b) their personal justification for that orientation, and (c) an acknowledgement as to the (above-cited) historicity of that orientation."

Since that original postscript (besides Republicans and other conservatives) many progressive Democrats have reached out to me to not only denounce Russophobia but to share their personal testimonies against it. Here are but two examples:
Progressive Democrat Response 1:
Having had the opportunity to visit former KGB friends in Russia and bringing 6 of them to the United States where we held lectures in American cities from coast to coast, I can assure my fellow Americans that all humans are essentially the same and that Russians are just like us.
Jim Everett (Former CIA Agent) - Independence, Missouri
Progressive Democrat Response 2:
How many people who spout general hatred of Russians, actually know a single Russian, either an immigrant or [having] spent enough time in Russia to have an understanding of how one thinks or who one is?
I would estimate that that percentage is less than 1% of the population.
Having spent nearly three months total in Voronezh, Russia and working directly with a number of Russians starting in 1997 and continuing through 2006, I believe that I do have an understanding of who many, if not the majority, of them are.  Voronezh is (or at least was) one of the closed cities in Russia.  I needed two Visas to go there as a US citizen doing business.
Most of the people I worked with are engineers (as am I).  The company they work for builds liquid fueled rocket second stage systems for their Proton Rocket.  This system is used to power Soyuz Rockets which take astronauts [including Americans] to the International Space Station....
The people there are caring to a fault. They truly care about one another and in the world as a whole.  They hold no animosity towards us.  Two of the families [I knew there] have subsequently moved to the USA from Voronezh, have Green Cards, and are in the process of becoming US citizens.
The common people are not out to get us, they never were.  Yes, some government officials, may be implicateable in doing things to harm others as part of a "them vs. us" game.  Yes, certain things need to be addressed and investigated.  Still many of the issues are our own dang fault.
Seeing this [article above] validated some of the principles of my critical thinking rubric — no one is all bad.  If someone claims that the other is all bad you can immediately discount virtually every other thing they say in relationship to that person.
